You guys! Today is PUBLICATION DAY for my new picture book called HUG MACHINE!!
That is right! HUG MACHINE is out today in stores all over the place. This is incredibly exciting for me because this will be the first picture book in which I have both written the words AND drawn the pictures. An exciting milestone, my friends.
HUG MACHINE is the story of a child who is super down with hugging. He is the self-proclaimed Hug Machine and he is very excited to tell everyone about it. He is very good at hugging and he is not shy to show the world. He is ready for you to watch how amazing he is at hugging.
You can read more about this at PyramidCar.com

So happy to finally show you all what I’ve been working for the past 8 weeks! Here’s my re-imagining of the classic story, Peter Pan!
This is a project I did for my Color and Story class at Art Center with Richard Keyes. The class was assigned to create 4 characters and key scenes based on the story of Peter Pan. If you’ve followed me before my Art Center days, then you’ll know that Peter Pan was something I did for my entrance portfolio for college. It was fun to come back to my old project and revamp it!
In all honesty, I’m still planning on reworking several pieces for this project and add more characters and key scenes. BUT I thought I’d share regardless that way we can all see the progression of this particular project!
- Tigerlily (not added)
- The Lost Boys (not added)
Key Scenes :
- Wendy gives Peter a “thimble”
- Peter realizes Wendy is alive, Tinkerbell looks upon them with guilt
- Wendy decides she wants to return home
- Peter returns Wendy home and gives her a “kiss”
~ PLEASE DO NOT REPOST WITHOUT SOURCING ME ~
Here’s a batch of speedpaints I did over this past week, the last one based off of the previous speedpaints merged together. It’s pretty relaxing!
We are The Muses. Goddesses of the Arts and proclaimers of heroes.
Calliope, Clio, Terpsichore, Melpomene, Thalia
Was digging through my old work folder and came across these roughs from last summer. They were originally going to be shown at a theme-park gallery run by a company that rhymes with “Bisney”. Needless to say, there was some weirdness with contract stuff and the project fell through. Thought it would be fun to share these anyhow!
My first book, ONCE UPON A CLOUD with Dial Press at Penguin is finally finished! Its up for preorder -here- and will be in stores in Spring 2015. These are some of the pages of characters little Celeste meets in the story.
This is so gorgeous!
Some rough concept pieces I created for a Nike pitch last year which sadly never came to fruition! In this line of work you often create things which end up never being used or seen by anybody! This was one of those cases.
Joined in the march for Palestine today! The Palestinian people are suffering from injustice, oppression and denied freedom and peace. It was such an awesome thing to see so many people of different backgrounds and faiths unite to demand basic human rights (that they should already be entitled to from birth) for the Palestinians. I hope we can see an end to this soon #FreePalestine! We can do this if we all work together 👊
